The Gospel of Jesus Christ
The most important thing for you to know about Cross Community Church is that we are all about Jesus Christ. Why is that important?
The Bible explains that God is the creator of everything we see, smell, touch, taste, and hear. God created it all, so he owns it all, and as the owner, he sets the rules. God is also holy, and holy means set apart and perfect. God is the very definition of perfection, and as a perfect being, he will only accept perfection.
The Bible also tells us that mankind is not holy. We are imperfect and broken. The brokenness in our lives is called sin. It infects us at every level. We are possessed by sin, and sin is what comes out of us by our actions and thoughts. I have sinned, and you have sinned, intentionally and unintentionally. The problem is our sin separates us from God at every level. Eventually, we will all die and stand before God, and He will judge us based on our sin, and our sin will separate us from him in a place called hell.
But God passionately loves us, so he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, down from Heaven on a rescue mission. Jesus was born as a human baby, lived a sinless life, and then died on the cross to pay the penalty and take the punishment for our sins. As Jesus died, he paid the penalty in full. But Jesus did not stay dead; he rose again on the third day, in the flesh. This is called the Good news.
It is not enough to know this; we have to respond to the truth of the Bible about Jesus. We respond by repenting, turning from our sin, and turning to Christ. Repenting means asking for forgiveness of our sin and asking God to center our life on him. We also must believe in the Jesus Christ of Scripture and believe the Gospel I just shared. When I use the word "believe," that means to trust in Jesus for the salvation of your soul completely.
If you have never done this before, I will invite you to do it now. You can talk to God in your own words and ask Him to forgive you and tell him you believe in Jesus and want him for your Savior. If you make this commitment or would like to know more, email us at info@crossforall.com and let us know.
